Hello! I am Geetha Subramaniyam. Originally
from Singapore, I moved to Canada in 1999 to further my education.
I spent a year at Malaspina International Collegiate, part of Vancouver Island University, in Nanaimo, B.C,
before moving to Alberta to complete a degree in Neuroscience at the
University of Lethbridge.
After pursuing a career in life sciences for a few years, I decided that I enjoyed
writing as much as (or perhaps more so than) science, and took a journalism course. I am now seeking meaningful employment in a position that will allow me to reach my full potential, utilizing all of my skills.
Besides writing blogs, prose, poetry and random, annoyingly long and painfully detailed emails to loved ones, I have a very keen interest in music, poetry and computers
and have always enjoyed fiddling around with audio, video and graphic
editing software. One of my pet projects is this very site, designed from
scratch using HTML, CSS and a touch of Flash.
As well, I enjoy photography and travelling, and would enjoy these activities even more so if I do become, as mentioned above, meaningfully employed, thus paving the way for the procurement of photography equipment and tacky souvenirs from the various places I would travel to.
But, enough about me. I would love to hear about you, and YOUR thoughts and feelings, about anything (or nothing) at all. So, contact me by email or by using the form at the bottom of this page.
The Thought Fractal is the name of my website, and it is based on a theory (somewhat) that I came up with during one of my more contemplative moods. If you are interested in reading a couple of pages of drivel, I intend to post that theory on this site very soon, and would be more than delighted if you checked back.
The Thought Fractal (dot com) is how one might pronounce this website's address, and thus may also serve as an alternate name for my website. Just a suggestion. Really, it was just an attempt at humour. Next question.
I usually write about anything that catches my attention, and (there's more) holds it long enough so I have the time time to get to my computer or a piece of paper and pencil. It's not as easy as it sounds. But having said that, I can and will write about anything else if I have to. And usually, I must say, it turns out fairly peachy. Other than that, I generally prefer to keep things light and airy, like a fine soufflé. I am especially fond of adjectives, and enjoy indulging in extended, inane banter, very much like how this answer is turning out to be.
Well, for one, I've included some important bits of information in the 'About Me' section above, in a more meaningful form. Also, I couldn't resist. Suggestions are welcome, and I do intend to update this frequently, as well.
I welcome your comments, suggestions, cheers, jeers (be nice), offers of employment, idle chatter and other such communications.
